Spring Fling Kidlit Entry 2022: Bunny’s Big Sneeze

Here’s our entry for this year’s Spring Fling Kidlit competition (Rules: ≤150 Word story inspired by a gif).

BUNNY’S BIG SNEEZE

One fine spring day, the flowers bloomed.

Bunny couldn't resist a HUGE sniff.

Bunny's friends held their breath and held on.

They knew what was coming. 

It would be noisy, 

and blowy, 

and messy.

An itch.

A twitch.

A tingling in that cute li’l nose…

“Aaa…”

“Pinch your nose!” buzzed Bee. “That’ll stop any sneeze.”

Itch. Twitch. Itch. Twitch.

“Aaaaaa…”

“Tickle the roof of your mouth with your tongue!” croaked Frog.

But the itch kept itching.

The twitch kept twitching. 

“Whistle!” chirped Grasshopper.

“Pull on your ears!” shrieked Bat.

“Think of a raccoon in a rowboat!” hooted Owl.

“AAA…”

“Bunny boogies! TAKE COVER!!” bellowed Bear.

“AAAACH- Oh hey, all those things actually worked!”

One fine spring day indeed. Until…

“HIC!“

Bunny's tummy bounced.

“Uhh, does anyone know - HIC! - 

how to get rid of the - HIC! -  

hiccups?”
